A sense of wonder Van Morrison
I walked in
my greatcoat down through the days of the leaves.
No before after, yes after before, we were shining our light into the days of
blooming wonder
in the eternal presence, in the presence of the flame.
Didn’t I come to bring you a sense of wonder? Didn’t I come to lift your fiery
vision bright?
Didn’t I come to bring you a sense of wonder in the flame?
On and on and on and on we kept singing our song,
over Newtonards and Comber, Gransha
and the
With Boffyflow and Spike, I said I could describe the
leaves for Samuel and Felicity-
rich, red browny, half burnt orange and green.
Didn’t I come to bring you a sense of wonder? Didn’t I come to lift your fiery
vision bright?
Didn’t I come to bring you a sense of wonder in the flame?
It’s easy to describe the leaves in the autumn and it’s oh, so easy in the Spring.
But down through January and February, it’s a very different thing.
On and on and on, through the winter of our discontent.
When the wind blows up the collar and the ears are frostbitten too,
I said I could describe the leaves for Samuel and what it means to you and me.
You may call my love Sophia, but I call my love Philosophy.
Didn’t I come to bring you a sense of wonder? Didn’t I come to lift your fiery
vision bright?
Didn’t I come to bring you a sense of wonder in the flame?

A sense of wonder…
Half a mile
from the county fair and the rain keep pouring down.
Me and Billy standing there with a silver half a crown.
Hands are full of a fishing rod and the tackle on our backs.
We just stood there getting wet with our backs against the fence.
Oh, the water, oh, the water, oh, the water, hope it don’t rain all day.
And it stoned me to my soul, stoned me just like jellyroll, and it stoned me.
And it stoned me to my soul, stoned me just like going home and it stoned me.
Then the rain let up and the sun came up and we were getting dry.
Almost let a pick-up truck nearly pass us by.
So we jumped right in and the driver grinned and he dropped us up the road.
We looked at the swim and we jumped right in, not to mention fishing poles.
Oh, the water, oh, the water, oh, the water, let it run all over me.
And it stoned me to my soul, stoned me just like jellyroll, and it stoned me.
And it stoned me to my soul, stoned me just like going home and it stoned me.
On the way back home we sang a song but our throats were getting dry.
Then we saw the man across the road with the sunshine in his eyes.
Well, he lived all alone in his own little home with a great big gallon jar.
There were bottles too, one for me and you and he said, ‘Hey, there you are.’
Oh, the water, oh, the water, oh, the water, get it myself from the mountain
stream.
And it stoned me to my soul, stoned me just like jellyroll, and it stoned me.
And it stoned me to my soul, stoned me just like going home and it stoned me.
And it stoned me to my soul, stoned me just like jellyroll, and it stoned me.
And it stoned me to my soul, stoned me just like going home and it stoned me.
Hey where
did we go,
Days when the rains came
Down in the hollow,
Playin’ a new game,
Laughing and a running hey, hey
Skipping and a jumping
In the misty morning fog with
Our hearts a thumpin’ and you
My brown eyed girl,
You my brown eyed girl.
Whatever happened
To Tuesday and so slow
Going down the old mind
With a transistor radio
Standing in the sunlight laughing,
Hiding behind a rainbow’s wall,
Slipping and sliding
All along the water fall, with you
My brown eyed girl,
You my brown eyed girl.
Do you
remember when
We used to sing,
Sha la la la la la la la la
la la te da
Sha la la la la la la la la la la te da
la te da.
So hard to find my way,
Now that I’m all on my own.
I saw you just the other day,
My how you have grown,
Cast my memory back there, Lord
Sometime I’m overcome thinking ‘bout
Making love in the green grass
Behind the stadium with you
My brown eyed girl
You my brown eyed girl
Do you remember when
we used to sing
Sha la la la la la la la la
la la te da
Sha la la la la la la la la la la te da
Sha la la la la la la la la la la te da
Did ye get healed Van Morrison
I wanna
know did you get the feeling? Did you get it down in your soul?
I wanna know did you get the feeling? And did the feeling grow?
Sometimes, when the spirit moves me, I can do many wondrous things.
I wanna know when the spirit moves you, did ye get healed?
I begin to realize, it manifest in my life in oh, so many ways.
Every day I wanna talk about it and walk about it, everyday I wanna be closer.
I wanna know did you get the feeling? Did you get it down in your soul?
I wanna know did you get the feeling? Did ye get healed?
I begin to realize, magic in my life, see it manifest in oh, so many ways.
Every day is getting better and better, I wanna be daily walking close.
It gets stronger when you get the feeling, when you get it down in your soul.
And it makes you feel good and it makes you feel whole
when the spirit moves you and it fills you through and through.
Every morning and at the break of day, did ye get healed?
Don’t look
back to the days of yesteryear. You cannot live on in the past, don’t look
back.
And I’ve known so many people, they’re still trying to live on in the past,
don’t look back.
If I could call back all those days of yesteryear, I would never grow old and
I’d never be poor,
but darling, those days are gone, oh yeah.
Stop dreaming and live on in the future. But darling, don’t look back.
Chop that
wood
Carry water
What’s the sound of one hand clapping
Enlightenment, don’t know what it is
Every second, every minute
It keeps changing to something different
Enlightenment, don’t know what it is
Enlightenment, don’t know what it is
It says it’s non attachment
Non attachment. non attachment
I’m in the here and now, and I’m meditating
And still I’m suffering but that’s my problem
Enlightenment, don’t know what it is
Wake up
Enlightenment says the world is nothing
Nothing but a dream, everything’s an illusion
And nothing is real
Good or bad baby
You can change it anyway you want
You can rearrange it
Enlightenment, don’t know what it is
Chop that wood
And carry water
What’s the sound of one hand clapping
Enlightenment, don’t know what it is
All around baby. you can see
You’re making your own reality. everyday because
Enlightenment, don’t know what it is
One more time
Enlightenment. don’t know what it is
It’s up to you
Enlightenment. don’t know what it is
It’s up to you everyday
Enlightenment, don’t know what it
Have I told you lately Van Morrison
Have I told
you lately that I love you
Have I told you there’s
no one above you
Fill my heart with
gladness
Take away my sadness
Ease my troubles,
that’s what you do.
Oh the morning sun in
all it’s glory
Greets the day with
hope and comfort too
And you fill my life with laughter
You can make it better
Ease my troubles,
that’s what you do.
There’s a love that’s
divine
And it’s yours and it’s
mine
Like the sun at the end
of the day
We should give thanks
and pray to the One.
Have I told you lately
that I love you
Have I told you there’s
no one above you
Fill my heart with
gladness
Take away my sadness
Ease my troubles,
that’s what you do.
There’s a love that’s
divine
And it’s yours and it’s
mine
And it shines like the
sun
At the end of the day
We will give thanks and
pray
To the One.
Hymns to the silence Van Morrison
Oh, my
dear, oh my dear sweet love. Oh, my dear, oh my dear sweet love.
When I’m away from you, when I’m away from you,
well I feel, yeah, well I feel so sad and blue. Well, I feel, well I feel, so sad and blue.
Oh my dear, oh my dear, oh my dear sweet love.
When I’m away from you, I just have to sing, my hymns,
hymns to the silence, hymns to the silence. Hymns to the
silence, hymns to the silence.
Oh my dear, oh my dear sweet love it’s a long, long journey,
long, long journey, journey back home.
Back home to you, feel you by my side, long journey, journey, journey.
Yeah, in the
burn the candle at both ends, burn the candle at both ends,
burn the candle at both ends, burn the candle at both ends.
And I keep on, cause I can’t sleep at night until the daylight comes through.
And I just, and I just, have to sing, sing my
hymns to the silence, hymns to the silence, hymns to the silence, my hymns to the silence.
I wanna go out in the countryside, oh sit by the clear, cool, crystal water.
Get my spirit, way back to the feeling, deep in my soul,
I wanna feel
oh, so close to the One, close to the One, close to the One, close to the One.
And that’s why, I keep on singing baby
my hymns to the silence, hymns to the silence, oh my hymns to the silence,
hymns to the silence.
Oh, hymns to the silence, oh hymns to the silence, oh, hymns to the silence,
hymns to the silence.
Oh, my dear, my dear sweet love.
Can you feel the silence? can you feel the silence?
Can you feel the silence? can you feel the silence?
Hymns to the silence, hymns to the silence, hymns to the
silence, hymns to the silence.
Hymns to the silence, hymns to the silence, hymns to the
silence, hymns to the silence.
Hymns to the silence, hymns to the silence.
The streets
are always wet with rain
After a summer shower when I saw you standin’
In the garden in the garden wet with rain
You wiped the teardrops from your eye in sorrow
As we watched the petals fall down to the ground
And as I sat beside you I felt the
Great sadness that day in the garden
And then one day you came back home
You were a creature all in rapture
You had the key to your soul
And you did open that day you came back to the garden
The olden summer breeze was blowin’ on your face
The light of God was shinin’ on your countenance
divine
And you were a violet colour as you
Sat beside your father and your mother in the garden
The summer breeze was blowin’ on your face
Within your violet you treasure your summery words
And as the shiver from my neck down to my spine
Ignited me in daylight and nature in the garden
And you went into a trance
Your childlike vision became so fine
And we heard the bells inside the church
We loved so much
And felt the presence of the youth of
Eternal summers in the garden
And as it touched your cheeks so lightly
Born again you were and blushed and we touched each other lightly
And we felt the presence of the Christ
And I turned to you and I said
No Guru, no method, no teacher
Just you and I and nature
And the father in the garden
No Guru, no method, no teacher
Just you and I and nature
And the Father and the
Son and the Holy Ghost
In the garden wet with rain
No Guru, no method, no teacher
Just you and I and nature and the holy ghost
In the garden, in the garden, wet with rain
No Guru, no method, no teacher
Just you and I and nature
And the Father in the garden
We were
born before the wind, also younger than the sun,
ere the bonnie boat was won as we sailed into the mystic.
Hark, now hear the sailors cry, smell the sea and feel the sky.
Let your soul and spirit fly into the mystic.
And when that fog horn blows I will be coming home.
And when that fog horn blows I want to hear it, I don’t have to fear it
and I want to rock your gypsy soul, just like way back in the days of old.
Then magnificently we will float into the mystic.
And when that fog horn blows I will be coming home.
And when that fog horn blows I want to hear it, I don’t have to fear it
and I want to rock your gypsy soul, just like way back in the days of old.
And together we will float into the mystic, come on girl.

Jackie
Wilson said it was “Reet-Petite,”
kinda love you got knock me off my feet, let it all hang out. Oh, let it all
hang out.
And you know I’m so wired-up, don’t need no coffee in my cup,
let it all hang out, let it all hang out.
Watch this- ding-a-ling-a-ling, ding-a-ling-a-ling-ding.
Ding-a-ling-a-ling, ding-a-ling-a-ling-ding, do-da-do-da.
I’m in heaven, I’m in heaven, I’m in heaven, when you
smile.
When you smile, when you smile, when you smile.
And when you walk across the road, you make my heart go boom-boom-boom,
let it all hang out, baby, let it all hang out.
And every time you look that way, honey child, you make my day,
let it all hang out. Like the man said, let it all hang out.
Watch this- ding-a-ling-a-ling, ding-a-ling-a-ling-ding.
Ding-a-ling-a-ling, ding-a-ling-a-ling-ding, do-da-do-da.
I’m in heaven, I’m in heaven, I’m in heaven, when you
smile.
I’m in heaven, I’m in heaven, I’m in heaven, when you
smile.
I’m in heaven, I’m in heaven, I’m in heaven, when you
smile.
When you smile, when you smile, when you smile.
Well, it’s a marvellous night for a Moondance
With the stars up above in your eyes
A fantabulous night to make romance
‘Neath the cover of October skies
And all the leaves on the trees are falling
To the sound of the breezes that blow
And I’m trying to please to the calling
Of your heart-strings that play soft and low
And all the night’s magic seems to whisper and hush
And all the soft moonlight seems to shine in your blush
Chorus:
Can I just have one a’ more Moondance with you, my love
Can I just make some more romance with a-you, my love
Well, I wanna make love to you tonight
I can’t wait ‘til the morning has come
And I know that the time is just right
And straight into my arms you will run
And when you come my heart will be waiting
To make sure that you’re never alone
There and then all my dreams will come true, dear
There and then I will make you my own
And every time I touch you, you just tremble inside
And I know how much you want me that you can’t hide
Chorus
Repeat 1st Verse
One more Moondance with you in the moonlight
On a magic night
La, la, la, la in the moonlight
On a magic night
Can’t I just have one more dance with you my love

Rave on John Donne, rave on thy Holy fool,

Rave on, down through the industrial revolution, empiricism, atomic and nuclear

Rave on down through time and space down through the

Rave on, you left us infinity and well pressed pages torn to fade.

Rave on Omar Khayyam, rave on Kahlil Gibran, oh, what sweet wine we drinketh.

Real real gone. I got hit by a bow and arrow.
Got me down to the very marrow and I’m real real
gone.
Real real gone, I can’t stand up by myself.
Don’t you know I need your help and I’m real real
gone.
Some people say you can make it on your own, oh you
can make it if you try.
I know better now, you can’t stand up alone. Oh baby that is why
I’m real real gone, I can’t stand up by myself.
Don’t you know I need your help, you’re a friend of mine and I’m real real gone.
And Sam Cooke is on the radio and the night is filled with space
and your fingertips touch my face, you’re a friend of mine and I’m real real gone.
I’m real gone, oh lord I got hit by a bow and arrow.
Got me down to the very marrow, you’re a friend of mine and I’m real real gone.
And I’m real real gone, I’m real gone.

And I will walk and talk in gardens all wet with rain.
Oh, sweet thing, sweet thing. My, my, my, my, my sweet thing.
And I shall drive my chariot down your streets and cry-
‘Hey, it’s me, I’m dynamite and I don’t know why.’
And you shall take me strongly in your arms again
and I will not remember that I even felt the pain.
We shall walk and talk in gardens all misty and wet with rain
and I will never, never, never grow so old again.
Oh sweet thing, sweet thing. My, my, my, my, my sweet thing.
And I will raise my hand up into the nighttime sky

Just to dig it all and not to wonder, that’s just fine
and I’ll be satisfied not to read in between the lines.
And I will walk and talk in gardens all wet, all misty wet with rain
and I will never, ever, ever, ever grow so old again.
Oh sweet thing, sweet thing. Sugar baby.
Sugar-baby with your champagne eyes and your saint-like

These dreams of you Van Morrison
I dreamed
you paid your dues in Canada
Left me to come through
I headed for the right way
I knew exactly just what to do
I dreamed we played cards in the dark
And you lost and you lied
Wasn’t very hard to do
But hurt me deep down inside
Chorus:
Mmmm, these dreams of you
So real and so true
These dreams of you
So real and so true
My back was up against the wall
And you slowly just walked away
You never really heard my call
When I cried out that way
With my face against the sun
You pointed out for me to go
Then you said I was the one
Had to reap what you did sow
Chorus
Bridge:
And hush-a-bye, don’t ever think about it
Go to sleep don’t ever say one word
Close your eyes, you are an angel sent down from above
And Ray Charles was shot down
But he got up to do his best
A crowd of people gathered round
To the question answered “yes”
And you slapped me on the face
I turned around the other cheek
You couldn’t really stand the pace
And I would never be so meek

When will I ever learn to live in God? Van Morrison
The sun was
setting over Avalon the last time we stood in the west.
Suffering long time angels enraptured by Blake, burn out the dross innocence
captured again.
Standing on the beach at sunset, all the boats, all the boats keep moving slow
in the glory of the flashing light in the evenings glow.
When will I ever learn to live in God? When will I ever learn?
He gives me everything I need and more, when will I ever learn?
You brought it to my attention everything that was made in God.
Down through centuries of great writings and paintings, everything lives in
God.
Seen through architecture of great cathedrals, down through
the history of time.
Is and was in the beginning and evermore shall be.
When will I ever learn to live in God? When will I ever learn?
He gives me everything I need and more, when will I ever learn?
Whatever it takes to fulfill his mission,
that is the way we must go.
But you’ve got to do it your own way, tear down the old, bring
up the new.
And up on the hillside its quiet where the shepherd is tending his sheep,
snd over the mountains and the valleys, the
countryside is so green.
Standing on the highest hill with a sense of wonder, you can see everything is
made in God.
Head back down the roadside and give thanks for it all.
When will I ever learn to live in God? When will I ever learn?
He gives me everything I need and more, when will I ever learn?
When will I ever learn to live in God? When will I ever learn?
He gives me everything I need and more, when will I ever learn?
As you
brush your shoes and stand before the mirror,
and you comb your hair and grab your coat and hat,
and you walk, wet streets trying to remember all the wild breezes in your
memory ever.
And everything looks so complete when you’re walking out on the street
and the wind catches your feet and sends you flying, crying,
ooo-wee, the wild night is calling. Ooo-wee, the wild night is calling.
And all the girls walk by, dressed up for each other
and the boys do the boogie-woogie on the corner of the street.
And the people passing by just stare in wild wonder
and the inside juke-box roars out just like thunder.
And everything looks so complete when you’re walking out on the street
and the wind catches your feet and sends you flying, crying,
ooo-wee, the wild night is calling. Ooo-wee, the wild night is calling.
The wild night is calling, the wild night is calling.
Come on out and dance, come on out and make romance.
Come on out and dance, come on out and make romance.
The wild night is calling, the wild night is calling.
Come on out and dance, come on out and make romance.
Come on out and dance, come on out and make romance
